For parents of young children ...

First please relax!  God put the wiggle in children - don't feel you have to suppress it in God's house.  

To help your family feel at home, here are some suggestions to get the most out of the service:

• sit towards the front so the young ones can see and hear
• use a gentle touch - an arm around your child's shoulder, your hand in theirs - to give reassurance and appropriate attention
• quietly explain the parts of the service
• help your child follow along in the leaflet and find pages in the prayer book
• encourage them to join in with prayers and hymns - they learn from your behaviour
• bring some soft toys, pencils, etc. for their use
  

We have a Sunday School to which all children are welcome. They first join in with the service, have a story from the minister and then retire to a separate school room for the remainder of the service.  Click here to learn more about Sunday School. 

 The way in which we welcome children affects the way they respond to church, God and Jesus.  Let your children know they are as welcome in God's house as they would be at a friends.
