Our Primary Ministries
Our Ministries really define
who we are and they provide the focus of parish life. At present we
have the following ministries in which, as a congregation, we are
actively engaged. Click on each ministry to find out more about that
work.
- Music Ministry ensures that our worship is augmented with the
joy of music - instrumental as well as vocal
- Church School provides the young family members with both
learning and fun as part of their worship.
- Chancel Guild supports our worship by ensuring the appropriate
Sunday service needs are provided
- Family Market is part of our Outreach program providing low cost
clothing and other items for the community
- Soup & Sandwich is also part of our Outreach work and operates a
weekly lunch kitchen for the community.
- Social Committee focuses on the family involvement in the church
in a non-religious atmosphere.
-
St.
John's Cemetery is a registered Ontario cemetery offering burial
services to the community (both Anglican and non-parishioners).

Other Current Projects
As part of our commitment to Outreach we have undertaken a
MILK BAG SLEEPING MAT PROJECT
In
this humanitarian recycling project, outer coloured milk bags are being
made into sleeping mats for adults & children in Haiti.
On October 19th Rev. Naomi Miller blessed the milk bag sleeping
mats before shipment to the Northwest Christian Mission in Haiti.
Workshops are held the first and third Wednesday afternoon of
each month from 1-3 pm in the Church of the Evangelists hall. New
volunteers are welcome to join this friendly group working hard for an
important cause.

bags. Back row from left Rev. Naomi Miller, Dorothy Harvey, Marge

Evans, Mike Andrews, Margaret Andrews.
Our project to help support our
armed forces personnel serving in Afghanistan through the
Chosen Soldier Program has now wrapped up. We have collected
and sent over three
shipments of supplies
to "our" soldier. The items
that have been included are the sort of thing that they cannot acquire
locally but that add measurably to their comfort and well being while
serving in a foreign country. Cheryl Ritchie and our crew with the
support of the whole congregation hope they have made a real
contribution to soldiers serving in Canada's armed forces overseas.
