If you are a newcomer ...

Welcome to our family!

In this web site you can find information about most aspects of our Church, from our mission through to current events.  But if you haven't been to our church before, you may feel a little intimidated the first Sunday regarding the simple routines we follow.

First, let us reassure you that we are not strict and formal.  Our services, like all of our ministries, are meant to be a warm, friendly experience.  Wear your blue jeans or a suit and tie - its you, your spirit and your mind that we are interested in, not your attire.

Our services (starting at 10am) do follow a "script" which is outlined in our weekly bulletin (which is handed to you on arrival) and include regular prayers as well as music, special prayers for current circumstances and a sermon.  It is easy to follow along and anyone can guide you if you want help.  Although the pews are hard wood, we want everyone to be comfortable when in church.

This also applies to those with young children.  Please relax!  God put the wiggle in children - don't feel you have to suppress it in God's house.  To help your family feel at home, sit towards the front so the young ones can see and hear, use a gentle touch to give reassurance and appropriate attention, help your child follow along in the leaflet and encourage them to join in with prayers and hymns.

We have a Sunday School to which all children are welcome and they first join in with the service, have a story from the minister and then retire to a separate school room for the remainder of the service.  Let your children know they are welcome in God's house as they would be at a friends.

At most services we have communion - the sharing of the bread and wine.  Baptized Christians of any age are welcome to join us at the rail during the sacrament but don't feel obliged to do so.

After the service, please join us in the hall for coffee, snacks and an opportunity to meet our folks and they you.

Directions

Church of the Evangelists
Parking for the church is along Queen St. or in the small lot to the south of the church.  Enter by the main doors on Queen St.

To your left is the vestibule and the front of the church.  Normally we have one or two greeters each morning to make you welcome and hand out the leaflet for the service.

Proceed through and choose a pew on either side.  If you have young children, it is often best to sit near the front to give them a better view.

To your right as you enter, is our parish hall.  Here we have coffee and muffins after service and also use the hall for Sunday School during the service.

Straight ahead as you enter is the nursery and washroom.

St. John's Church
Parking for the church is angle style along the side of the sixth line roadway in front of the fence.

Through the fence gate and straight ahead is the church front door.  Through the door is the vestibule and the front of the church straight ahead.  Again, choose a pew on either side and  if you have young children, it is often best to sit near the front to give them a better view.

St. John's only has an outhouse toilet, so "plan ahead" if that does not suit.

Wheelchair access
Both churches are wheelchair accessible although a removable ramp is used at the Church of the Evangelists.  Both also have wheelchair parking near the front door.
